Partnerships for bird habitat conservation
Private groups and government agencies working
through the Oregon Habitat Joint Venture have conserved more
than 150,000 acres of important habitat for birds and other
wildlife since 1991.
Working together, this diverse group of partners
has protected and improved large blocks of high-value habitat
- ranging from estuaries and desert marshes to floodplain
forests, oak woodlands, and grasslands - with special significance
for Oregon's biological diversity.
These successes are the results of voluntary,
cooperative efforts and partnerships that allow government
agencies and private organizations to combine their resources
for maximum effectiveness.
Elsewhere on this web page, you can find more
information about the Oregon Habitat
Joint Venture partnership. You can also sign up for the
free Oregon Habitat newsletter,
an easy way to stay in touch with what's happening with cooperative
habitat conservation efforts around the state.
We appreciate your interest and hope you'll
join us in working to conserve habitats for Oregon's birds
and other wildlife.
